So Sam - what did you think of the actual outcome, of the whole '08 affair? And as for this Onion piece you link, as being "vulgar but true" words to that effect: it was certainly true that it contained a lot of crude language and sexually violent imagery, which built to such a crescendo that one felt the anonymous author was actually furiously angry at something, rather than in a mood to see any humour. Yet what the target/object of his anger? - all very obscure. *What was the piece on surface in aid of - the reelection/rehabilitation of Jimmy Carter?* Now that *is* absurd! Yes of course he may appear superior, even more honest, compared to ballot choices today, which is hardly a feat in the age of Bush, Palin, even Obama. This is really symptomatic of US Decline and Fall; probably what the writer is really fussed about! Liberalism is outmoded and no longer the answer. What US really needs is a mass party of the working class and the "middle" class: FOR anyone who has to work for a living, not for fun, 'kay?
